Delayed by the press this morning, that's right the press! Tony the hack from the Cheshire Chronicle was waiting by the Swan hotel along with camera and video equipment.
Not far away were Shazza, Snapper, Diamond Geezer and of course the Boyce complete with support van that was now doubling up as an outside broadcast unit. Did the interview in the single take, I'm told it will be on the papers website and when it is then Big Dave the BLOGMASTER will attach the link.
Got away about 9.30 and headed into The North Country. This section was the most heavily populated and industrial of the trip so far. Through Warrington and Wigan, battle-scarred by factories and industrial units, the roads are busy and you just want to leg it through...However, then there is Ecclestone where I'm staying.. now this is Lancashire at its best..pies, cakes, old cotton mills and mines and Thwaites bitter.
Went for a cheeky one in the Windmill and must of left a fiver on the bar, after 10 min or so Betty the Landlady came running out with it after a member of the Dominoes team handed it in. She also gave me a extra fiver when she found out what I was doing..I like the North!
The digs are the best yet, a proper farm, looking forward to breakfast wonder if they have heard of the Spice Girls?
