Day 07

Went to Hereford last night and sampled the local scrumpy cider, very cloudy and a meal in itself if you add a bit of pepper.

Followed up with a meal out with Mum, Bev and Boyce...lots of talk of vintage cars and the Scilly Isles...

Had an early 7am start this morning, the idea being to eat up as many miles before lunchtime.

The first spots of rain since Penzance this morning as I left Eardisley,.

I've bean really lucky with the weather so far and looking at the forecast its also good for the next few days as well.

The Shropshire hills are perfect cycling country and I was able to get a good lick on as I criss-crossed the English/Welsh border.

I came off the bike today! One of those tricky moments when you can't get your feet out of the pedal clips quick enough as you come to a stop, fortunately there was nobody about to see me land in the the farmyard muck...no real damage just a grazed elbow and sore knee..

Arrived in Tarporley around 4:00pm and was well pleased to get there after a gruelling 93miles..

Quick unpack, shower and change and then ready for the off again..

So, 7:00pm hit the Forrester's with some of the guys tonight for early doors, Boycie, The brief, Snapper, Big Dave and Diamond Geezer... for the Black Pudding feast and the Pepper sauce fountain.

I was presented with a whole Scottish 'Black Pudding to mark the 400 mile complete stage..thanks guys and I will put this to good use when I return.

Also big thanks to Gordon and all the guys from the Tarporley Rotary who put their hands in their pockets for the donations...Thanks.

Rest day tomorrow to catch up with the fundraisers, do some bike maintenance and generally recharge the batteries before heading North on Friday on my own without Boycie!

He never did use that Generator but his already thinking of ideas for when he rejoins me at Fort William...so we've not heard the last of Boycie or his Generator yet!

Keep checking out the BLOG and posting your comments...the interest is picking up and I'm told that some people are finding it entertaining!!!!

So, see you up North...
