Day 01

After finally finding a pub showing Setanda sports and watching a thumping 4-1 England win it was back to the YHA too get my head down. Proved to be an interesting night in Penzance Youth Hostel, seems I was the only one in my Dorm who had a decent nights kip and the other 4 in the next bunks gave me a look in the morning as if they wanted to kill me..emhhh?

Left YHA 8.30 and was crossing Cornwall from Penzance to St. Ives. Hard going but wind with me and sun shining by 10am arrived St Ives for tea and cake. I hit 33mph without pedalling then turn a corner, change up 29 gears and I'm down to 6mph. Watched locals go by and thought to myself its a bit like being on a film set where the Pirates of the Caribbean meet the Last of the Mohicans.. Seem to be wearing either Bandanna's and Apache headscarves.

Another 25 miles and its St Agnes for Pastie lunch and yes I hate to say it cause I know its a girls drink 2 pints of Lager top!

No sign of Boycie and the support van yet so I've checked in BB and am on a cliff top in the rain drafting this blog. Loads of text and comments going on blog, keep them coming. Really chuft about the sponsor fund now standing at £1970, so if you haven't but your gonna then do it now and break the 2 Grand.

So, a good start but a long way to go and now the daily miles start increasing.

I've just thought of a use for Boycie's generator......fire it up, attach a large rubber band and affix to waistline. At full revs he'll be a one man Mexican Wave!
